The short version
Convertmaxxing is free and converts your files on your own device — we never receive them, so they remain entirely yours. Use it for anything lawful. It comes with no warranty, so keep your originals until you've checked the results. That's genuinely most of it; the rest below is the same thing in more careful words.
1. What Convertmaxxing is
Convertmaxxing is a web page that converts image and video files between formats. All conversion runs locally in your browser; your files are never uploaded to us or anyone else. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and no fees. By using the site you agree to these terms — if you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.
2. Your files stay yours
You keep every right you have in the files you convert. Because conversion happens on your device, we never receive, store, or claim any rights over your files or the converted results — there is nothing for us to license, and we don't ask for a license.
3. Acceptable use
Convert only files you own or have the right to use. You are responsible for what you do with the converter and its output — including respecting copyright, privacy, and any laws that apply to you. Don't attempt to disrupt the site, scrape it abusively, or misrepresent it as your own service.
4. Keep your originals
Format conversion is inherently imperfect: lossy formats discard data, some formats can't represent everything the source contained (transparency, animation, metadata, color profiles), and browsers differ in what they can encode. Always verify a converted file before deleting the original. Convertmaxxing is not a backup tool and the output is provided for you to check, not to trust blindly.
5. No warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change, break, or be removed at any time without notice.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Convertmaxxing and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including lost data, lost profits, or the cost of substitute services — arising from your use of (or inability to use) the site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us to use the service, which is zero.
7. Open-source components
The conversion engines and libraries this site is built on are open-source software used under their own licenses — see the licenses page for the full list and attributions. Those licenses govern the components; these terms govern the site itself, including its design, copy, and branding, which belong to us.
8. Advertising
Convertmaxxing is free and may show display advertising in the future to stay that way. Ads will never gate the converter — you will never be required to watch or click anything to convert or download your files — and because your files never leave your device, ads can never see them. See the privacy policy for how advertising would affect data handling.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site evolves. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the “last updated” date above will always tell you when that was. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
